The group have now delivered their MCA Approved Instructor Training Courses (based on IMO Model Courses 6.09 and 6.10) to multiple colleges and shipping companies from Europe, North America, Africa, Asia, and Australia. Leaving just South American and any colleges in Antarctica to fill the map!
The courses are held at ECDIS Ltd’s head office in Hampshire, UK and enable students to learn better teaching techniques for both standard and simulator-based training courses. Each
course is 5 days in length and cover a wide range of topics from the role of the instructor to teaching methods, communication skills and effective use of teaching aids.
The courses have been highly praised and show the value added from training trainers in the latest instructor techniques for the modern `digital native` seafarer:
“My expectation of the course was it was going to be boring and pointless (From feedback from others who have done the course ELSEWHERE). Was completely the opposite – enjoyed – gained knowledge and solidified existing knowledge”
Daniel Wright, SAGA Shipping – UK, Europe
“I really enjoyed the course and the material. I am pleased to have the opportunity to come and learn in this environment. I can really use what I have learned and apply it”
Jennifer Norwood, Maine Maritime Academy – Maine, USA
“The course was changing my attitude to teaching/learning process. Now I know the way which I should follow in order to achieve higher level of teaching.
Andrzej Bak, Maritime University Szczecin – Poland, Europe
